Open Space Preservation Commission

Said Commission shall serve as facilitators for protecting and preserving open space in the Town.

Personnel Board

The Personnel Board is a 5 member Committee appointed by the Town Moderator for three year staggered terms.

Planning Board

The Board reviews and approves applications for permits as required by the Town's bylaws, reviews and approves subdivisions and developments, and conducts site plan reviews.

Pre-K To 8 School Building Committee

The Neary School Building Committee (“School Building Committee”) shall be an ad-hoc committee, appointed by the Select Board.

Southborough Recreation promises to offer fun and affordable programs for individuals of all ages.

Registrar of Voters

The Board of Registrars of Voters is a four-member board. Three members are appointed by the Board of Selectmen for three-year terms with the term of office beginning on July 1st of each year.

Select Board

Apart from the strict legal responsibilities, the Select Board sets policy and strategic direction, coordinates the activities of other boards, and hears appeals and resolves problems that have not been settled at lower levels.

School Committees

School committees in Southborough include the Assabet Valley Regional Vocational School District Committee, Northborough-Southborough Regional School Committee, and the Southborough School Committee.

Southborough Scholarship Advisory Committee

The Southborough Town Scholarship takes into consideration academics, financial need, extracurricular activities, work and volunteer experiences, as well as written expression.

Southborough Public Accessibility Committee

The Southborough Public Accessibility Committee (“SPAC") consists of five voting members appointed by the Board of Selectmen, plus the non-voting, ex-officio members identified herein.

Stewardship Committee

The mission of the Southborough Stewardship Committee is to support the Conservation Commission by providing conservation-based stewardship of the Breakneck Hill Conservation Land, balancing multiple conservation, and passive recreational uses.

Taxation Aid Committee

In any city or town establishing aid to the elderly and disabled taxation fund, there shall be a taxation aid committee to consist of the chairman of the board of assessors, the city or town treasurer, and three residents of the city or town to be appointed by the mayor or board of selectmen as the case may be.

Trails Committee

The duty of the Committee shall be to create, enhance, extend, monitor, and maintain Trails on public property within the Town, exclusive of land that is exclusively regulated by another board or committee in Southborough, and to work to incorporate and/or extend such Trails into regional trail networks whenever possible.

Youth Commission

The purpose of the Southborough Youth Commission is to support the mission of Southborough Youth and Family Services to provide compassionate and equitable behavioral health and social services to Southborough residents.

Zoning Board of Appeals

The Zoning Department is responsible for the administration of appeals taken to the Southborough Board of Appeals.
