National Grid's D156 ACR project will commence with construction and vegetation maintenance and cutting this week and continue through December 2025. The project will work sequentially down the Right-of-Way (ROW) to replace poles on DCR property within the National Grid ROW. A general map of the affected areas can be seen below. Note that this work will not be along roadways and will not affect traffic. The work may temporarily impact trails along the Borough's Loop Trail along the newest section near the Sudbury Dam. Please be sure to follow all signage and keep out of restricted areas. All trails are expected to remain open, but may have areas sectioned off along the trail for safety.
This week will start access work, erosion controls, and placement of construction mats and will occur for the next few months. Once crews are done with the prep work, construction crews will come in to start the work for placement of the foundation of the poles and necessary infrastructure. Work will happen in tandem and sequentially as they move down the ROW to each location as they go. Construction should be completed by the end of 2026, with the foundation crews for poles beginning next week on 12/8.
