Meaghan Eiland is the Assistant Director and has worked for the department since 2014 when she started as a graduate intern. She received her master’s degree from Framingham State University in Counseling Psychology and is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC). Prior to working at SYFS, Meaghan worked in the early childhood field for 15 years which is where her passion for working with children and families began. Meaghan strives to help clients develop effective strategies to manage their symptoms by building a collaborative and interpersonal relationship with them. She creates an empathic, validating environment to support the individuals she works with and uses a strengths-based, person-centered approach. She utilizes a variety of strategies in her work informed by Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and trainings in the management of suicidality and self-injury. Meaghan coordinates the clinical services for the department, supervises graduate-level clinicians, and provides counseling services for individuals and families. She particularly enjoys working with adolescents. In her spare time, Meaghan can usually be found reading while cuddling with her cats, spending time with her family, and watching British TV shows.
