TOWN OF SOUTHBOROUGH

INVITATION TO BID
1. The Town of Southborough, Massachusetts, the awarding authority, will receive sealed bids for
the Community Room Foundation Addition at the Southborough Senior Center/Town
Offices, 9 Cordaville Road, Southborough, MA, in accordance with the Contract Documents
prepared by Raymond T. Guertin, Architects, 125 Leslie Road, Rowley, Massachusetts.
2. The Project consists of: New 670 square foot concrete foundation and slab for new Community
Room Addition to the Southborough Senior Center/Town Offices. Related work includes
excavation and rough grading, foundation insulation, and coordination of new floor radiant
heating system.
3. The work is estimated to cost: $45,000.00
4. Quotes are subject to M.G.L. c.149 §44A (2)(B) & to state prevailing wage rates as required by
M.G.L. c.l49 §§26 to 27H inclusive.
5. All Quotes will be received at the Office of the Select Board at the Southborough Town Hall, 17
Common Street, Southborough, MA 01772 until 12 PM on Wednesday, May 31, 2023, after
which time all bids will be opened and read aloud.
6. Plans and Specifications may be obtained electronically from the town of Southborough by
contacting Sue Wood: on Wednesday, May 17, 2023, or later.
7. Bid Deposit - Not Required.
8. The successful General Bidder will be required to furnish a 50% Payment Bond as set forth in
the specifications; executed in the full amount of the Contract Price.
9. The Awarding Authority reserves the right to reject any or all bids, if it be in the public interest to
do so, or if it determines that such bid does not represent the bid of a person, firm, or
organization competent to perform the work as specified.
10. Minimum wages to be paid on the work of the project are established by a Schedule issued by
the Commissioner of Labor and Industries, a copy of which is contained in the Contract
Documents and will be made a part of the Contract.
11. No bid shall be withdrawn for a period of thirty (30) days, Saturdays, Sundays and legal holidays
excluded, after receipt of award, without written consent by the Town of Southborough.
12. The Town of Southborough is exempt from sales tax, for which reason, bidders should not
include sales tax in figuring or in reference to any bid.
