These resources are listed in order of urgent mental/behavioral health support first to routine mental/behavioral health support. Please note that some of the resources listed are for Southborough residents specifically or contain Southborough-specific information.
a. Suicide & Crisis Lifeline
If you or someone you know is having thoughts of suicide or experiencing a mental health or substance use crisis, dialing 988 from your phone provides a direct connection to free, confidential, and compassionate support. When you call or text 988 or visit the Lifeline Chat, you'll be quickly connected to trained crisis counselors who will listen to your concerns, provide support, and connect you to additional resources if needed. For 24/7 confidential support, just call or text 988 or visit the Lifeline Chat.
Residents can still call 911 for psychiatric emergencies.
b. Mobile Crisis Intervention (MCI)
Local mental health emergency intervention: 800-640-5432
MCI provides you/your family members with crisis assessment, intervention, and short-term stabilization. Instead of going to the emergency room, you can get these services in your home or at other locations in the community. Learn more about Adult and Youth Mobile Crisis Intervention.
a. Local Walk-in Urgent Care Centers for Mental Health Needs
Community Behavioral Health Centers (CBHCs) are one-stop shops for a wide range of mental health and substance use treatment programs. CBHCs offer immediate care for mental health and substance use needs, both in crisis situations and more routine settings. Crisis services are available around the clock for anyone in Massachusetts experiencing a potential mental health emergency and are entirely insurance-blind, meaning anyone can access services, regardless of insurance coverage. Routine outpatient services are available for all MassHealth members and may also be covered by some commercial insurers.
